Default Licks NOVDOT helmet and Visomatic 6000

Boys,

Just got my Licks NOVDOT helmet………not very impressed! It’s a half helmet with thin plastic on the sides and back to make it look like a ¾ old school helmet.
Tested the helmet with the Transitional visor and it did not protect against the wind nor did it get very dark in the sun light! Rode it 3 miles and cried the whole way!
Chalking this one up as a bad buy! I hope Licks has a good return policy! This was a father’s day gift gone bad……. It’s a small helmet but looks like they cut corners to do it…very uncomfortable; shield does not protect from the sun/wind, and looks very cheaply made.
(from the looks of it I would question the D.O.T.)

For me I’m pretty happy with my RockHard Classic with Bell 500 face shields (smoke and clear)!

I had the same problem with the visor. Wind in eyes the entire way. I could wear googles under it and that worked, but who wants to do that. Ended up ditching the visor and just going with goggles. Overall comfort is okay.

Don't have any experience with the NovDot, but I have never found a light-adjusting product that I liked.

your literally the first negative review i have seen about their helmet, which is sad casue i was thinking of getting one. however i put the visor in my rockhard helmet and it did a great job containing the wind. dont forget you have to trim the upper middle tab so that it can seat fully in.

Got mine in the mail today.. Sending it back tomorrow. It was too small. I used their measurements but apparently I have a oblong shaped dome.... Guess thats the price you pay for ordering a lid online without trying it on. I've always had great luck with sizing with HJC. Was hoping to have the same experience here...... I agree with 07 Bobber though.. The safety aspects of this helmet look somewhat suspect when compared with my full face carbon HJC. I was expecting this considering the low price and the low profile design of the lid.. I'm sure that it is better than wearing nothing at all like most Harley riders here in IL...

I have a half helmet (hawk) and a 3/4 metal flake and like both of them. My wife also has a 3/4 metal flake and she likes it.

I like the helmet for around town but I agree that it doesn't feel very stout. On the freeway I wear my Bell Custom 500 with the smoked face shield.
