perfect info zero5zero. Even with the chrome backing plate it's about the same as HD and you get a better filter. One more question....Do you really see the backing plate when installed? Is it worth the extra for the chrome?

I think I'll use my willie g cover for now since its just collectong dust and its free.
I'll check out azece later down the road....

Thanks everyone

Rooti,

Yes you will see the backing plate. The chrome is absolutely worth it imho.

Cheers,

Tom

Cool

Well if you can see it, it has to be chrome...Not like I have to add any other chrome so why not.

Thanks for the info, now I know where I want to go and where to get it from, now just gotta find some money....lol

So you say its a K&N like filter. Is it washable and do you oil and clean it like a k and n? I see its red in color which made me think its a K & N.

Yes, it is washable and yes you oil it.

I use the K&N recharge kits, (oil and cleaning solution), per the recommendation of Fuel Moto.

If I remember correctly when I asked the guys at fuel moto if it was indeed a K&N and they said it was a "K&N" style filter. Not sure exactly what that means...they said clean and oil it just like a K&N filter. I said...Ok will do!

No problem. Glad to help.

Yeah Fuel Moto has my return business and wholehearted recommendation. They provide free maps with a purchase of there pcv fuel management systems for life. They have sent me 2 follow up maps since changing my pipes twice. That's great service in my opinion.

Cheers,

Tom

I'm also looking for a cover.

Does anyone know if the filter on the Arlen Ness Big Sucker (stage 1 kit) is the same size filter as the SE stage 1?

I just put the round SE stage one kit on my Street Bob. Looks cool but you really can see the backing plate. I painted mine black, much better. Not sure about the cover. There is about 1/4 inch gap between the accessory cover and air filter. Doesnt seem right to me. Maybe thats normal?

old post... I have the arlen ness ac and there is no gap between the cover and filter. I used a thick nylon washer between the filter and star plate so it would stick out far enough to get the insert screws started. Too thick of spacer and it would cause it to stick out as you described.

My problem is the mounting bracket that came with my air cleaner cover is molded inwards so it butts up against the air cleaner itself. It simply wont sit flush against the filter. I have the Willie G cover 27939-08
