Effects of cigarette smoke on bikes
As we all know nicotine changes the color of paints pretty rapidly to a yellowish color.
Just my luck, I got 2 chain smokers who repeatedly go out to the garage (where I just happen to keep my bike) and smoke over and over again. Now my question is...what will the effects of the smoke be on my leather seat? Chrome? Hand grips? Paint?
Could be a stupid question, but for those who are very concerned with the look of their bikes, this is an important one.
I considered getting the harley bubble, but it will have to run year round. What do you think?

RE: Effects of cigarette smoke on bikes
I don't think it's a stupid question. My parents bought a condo once and spent months replacing basically every surface because the old lady living in there must have done nothing but smoke all day. It was unbelievable. Also, you always can tell when you are in a smoker's car. I used to smoke so I'm not bashing smokers, but it's undeniable that it "nasties" stuff up quite a bit.
If your seat is vinyl and everything else is a hard surface, I'd say you're fine if you just keep it clean. Wash it regularly and if you aren't riding it much, just go wipe it down every so often. The permanent damage seems to be to carpet, drapes, upholstery, clothers, etc. It does seem like a cover might be worth looking into though.

Errr.. Let your Bike decide... If it's bothered by the smoke...LOL.. Or put a partion up for smokers and non-smokers... Nevermind the second hand will clog your air cleaner.. and your fuel injection will need a by-pass.. Hmmmm...I wonder if that would be a warranty item... I hope no smoke was tree... Then you got a whole 'nother problem.. soft drugs could lead to addiction......
I will admit that's an original question... How can you not find that question funny....LMAO.... People actually leave their bike out year round with no effect than sun fading the paint...
and no I don't smoke...
