Hi from the UK, I have a 07 lowrider on order and after hearing the stock exhaust, the pipes have to go !! As I cant afford to spend a fortune after buying the bike, I had decided to fit a slip on system, either the Vance & Hines Straightshot Slip On or the Screamin Eagle Slip On for the 07 models, part number 80492-07.
I want the bike to sound right, (that Harley sound) not to load but not quiet, I start work at 6.30 in the morning and live in a built up residential area, don't want to pi** the neighbours off to much !
This will be my first Harley and would like your coments, I have searched the forum but didn't find quite the post I was looking for.
I can get the V&H for $200 and the SE for $300
I have listened to the sound on the V&H web site, but having not heard the S/Eagle wasn't much help.
Which system should I go for ???? and how would you discribe the difference between the 2 systems

Hey Steve, I went with the V&H Straightshots on my 07 Bob and I love em'. They are a little on the loud side when you get on it, but it has that great Harley sound. The muffler and heat shields are almost the exact diameter of the head pipes, so you have to look close to tell they are slip-ons. I'm also running a stock air filter with no computer upgrades. It runs great. Hope this helps.

 

From the people I know with V&H, they are pretty damned loud.

 

I have had both on my 07 Bob and I prefer the V&H with the quiet baffles.
Sound is much, much better with the V&H in my opinion.

I'm replacing my SE1 with Vance&Hines Straight Shot slip ons with quite baffles later this month.

Vance and Hines slip ons whith quiet baffles. they are mellow when light on the throttle and have a hot rod sound when you get on it.

 

Hi again, This is the 2nd time ive heard V&H straightshot slip ons with the quiet baffle !! what i the differance ? what shoud I go for ? I am after a nice deep rumble that can be heard cearly, but wont disturb the neighbours to much, Steve

 

My Big Gun 3 pipes disturb the nieghbors, but I love them
