Default luggage rack question

want to get a t-bag for the wideglide - the t-bag site says their product has to have a luggage rack to sit on. Is this true? Do we really need to spend money on a luggage rack? Why couldn't the smaller t-bags attach to sissy bar and sit passenger...And if we do the luggage rack, HD has a detachable one that attaches to the sissy bar - is it a viable product or too gimicky? Don't want saddlebags.

Annie, most of them will work either on the luggage rack or passenger and most state so. Interesting thing I noticed about my luggage rack the other day. Found a little sticker that said "Maximum Load...10lbs" WTF??? Art

Any t-bag will work on a passenger seat but you need to make sure it isn't too deep to interfere with your riding position. Since your Dyna is a Wide Glide, HD makes a curved luggage rack for the bobtail fender that looks pretty nice.

Some of the bags that hang on back of sissy bar will rub on bob fender and scratch it. I didnt like the factory rack so got the Kuyayakn Fold-Down rack. Stays up when you dont have a bag on the back. Only problem comes with lightweight magnets (or maybe some were missing) so flops down when you hit a bump. I added two small rare earth magnets. Need two hands to pull it down now.

LOL!!! [sm=funnypostabove.gif] I wish I would have used a luggage rack last weekend, I starpped a tent to my front forks, and a bunch of stuff to the sissybar and when I got to the campground, i had rubbed two spots in my paint, front and rear fenders.
