WIDE TIRE KIT QUESTION

All i know is a guy from hogpro says that they have done it and on his web site he has pics of an 06 Wide glide with a 200, and not really sure what he would gain by making it up. Now as far as a 200 being an inch wider i really dont think it is. I dont have the exact specs on the size but there is no way that the 180 is 1 inch wider than the 160 so i dont see how that would be true for the 200. Here is the pic from the site of the 06 wide glide with the 200

RE: WIDE TIRE KIT QUESTION
I also have a 180 on my Bob and there is no-way a 200 will fit without a wider fender, I can barely get my fingertip between the tire and fender.

Hi Todd,
That's a pretty close conversion but 1" = 25 mm and a bit, so the difference between a 180 and a 200 is just over 3/4" (which is 18 mm). Same holds true from 160-180.
Haven't seen an FXDB out here with a 200 mm rear yet, but the 180 sure looks great and seems to fill out the rear fender without looking like somebody's tried to shoe horn the tyre in....which is also not fun when the tyre expands after riding hard....[]
You've all have some great looking dynas there!
John.

The bottom line is that 20 mm is more than 3/4 of an inch, and less than an inch. I don't think we're talking about any noticeable difference here...at least not as far as the 200mm tire on a dyna argument is concerned. I'm just glad there have been a few other folks who have the 180 SE tire and have replied here....they, too, see how tight that is and realize how it would be impossible to put a 200mm (SE Dunlop) tire on.
As far as other tire brands are concerned, I can't comment. I'm talking about the SE Dunlop which is part of the HD wide tire kit.

To assist anyone reading this thread. The conversion IS: 1" = 25.4mm or 2.54cm.

RE: WIDE TIRE KIT QUESTION
Veniculum, no sweat man i didnt take it personally nor was i responding in anger. I just wanted to pass on what i have seen, i think there must be a big difference between the SE 180 and other manufacturers 180s because mine is a 180 and i could deffinatley fit more in there.
