Currently where it sits its about 1.25"-1.5" above the headlight. My only issue is that if I lower it I'm affaid the majority of the slipstream is not going to have enough height to clear my head and will hitting me square in the face, since its only 14". Also, I don't think the HD shields are angle adjustable. Either way I'll definitely try out your method. In turn I will also bring down the lowers more. How much clearance to do you recommend for the headlight - shield gap? Thanks.
I just lowered the windshield as low as the QD clamps would let me, there is about a 1/2" gap left between the headlight and shield, but that's as low as I could get.
My 18" shield is also HD and I just loosened the top bracket (it's slotted) and pushed it forward about 1/2" -5/8" or so. You will also need to loosen the bottom bolts, in order to get it to move. Takes just a minute or two to do.
