Default Just take it off

I removed mine as mentioned above. Then filled the holes with some SS allen head bolts. You have to trim them real short on the front side. I filled in the blank spot with the Winged Wille G or you could just leave it blank. I've seen some people put bullet heads tapped and attached with a pan head screw. Any idea similar to this to fill the holes, dice, skulls, etc. But as others have mentioned, spray paint is easy. I use the VHT Wrinkle Black from Oreily's. Spray 3 coats 5 minutes apart and then put in oven at 200 for anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. I put mine in for 15 min and then usually let it set at least 3 days before reinstalling, but I have heard if you leave it for an hour it will be ready to install right away. I have painted alot of the chrome pieces on mine with this paint, shift levers, brake levers, horn cover, belt cover. Been wanting to paint the derby cover but just didnt want my bike down that long. It holds up well.

I cleaned mine with Windex and then painted with a black textured non-skid coating. The stuff sticks to anything.

Since it's an easy part to remove and attach....feel free to play with a few options. Try one kind of paint and let it sit for a week then go with option #2. Ask a few people for their opinions in person (pictures never seem to work properly). Rinse and repeat.

I like switzead's route. Remove it...and then add you're own little accent piece. I like the bottle opener idea (even if it's never used).
