Default Just picked up my new 2011 Wide Glide!

When I purchased this bike last week I went ahead and ordered the following:

-V&H Big Radius 2 into 2 (black) pipes
-Roland Sands Air Breather
-Having it Dyno Tuned
-LED Break Light
-Daytime Running Break Lights
-New Black Levers
-Front Turn Signal Relocate

Last Thursday the dealer called me and told me my pipes are on back order for 2 weeks. I told them I wanted the bike with everything on it before I took possession but my lack of patience took over. I went ahead and picked up the bike and will take it back to get all the mods done on it when the pipes finally arrive. I love the bike but it is weird riding it with stock pipes. It literally sounds like a hair dryer. I can't believe how quiet they are. My sporty I traded in sounded way much better and all I had was slip on's on it. Anyway, I feel it would be best to put some miles on it before they Dyno it anyway. I do hate that I have to ride 50 mph for the first 50 miles then 70 mph until I put 450 miles on it. I am very pleased with this bike and hopefully in a week or two it will sound as if HELL IS COMING!!! I will post some pics of the bike once I get all the mods done and will link a youtube video of the before and after so it will give you a good idea on the difference of sound once I get the pipes, breather and tuning done.

Congrats on the new bike. I'm in the same boat. I got mine last week too and I can't believe how quiet the stock pipes are. I ordered Chrome VH Big Radius 2 into 2's last night so I can hear it.

Hahahaa...yep! It is amazing that Harley stock pipes are so quite. I believe my dealership orders from Drag Specialties but Dennis Kirk has them for a great price and in stock.

I guess it's a good thing for my neighbors that I still have the stock pipes on the bike. They already complain about how loud my car is every time I start it. Once I get the pipes on, I'm planning on starting the bike and the car in the driveway and giving the neighbors a little sound show!

I ordered from Dennis Kirk and they even went a buck lower than the lowest price I could find! Can't wait to get them on the bike.

Hahahaa...sounds like my neighbors! When I pulled up to my house yesterday one of my neighbors actually looked at me a lil funny b/c the bike was so much less quiet than my old sporty. Well in about a week I will confuse them even more when they hear it with the new pipes!

I probably had mine over 70 mph on the test ride. I didn't really follow any of their set speeds on any of my bikes. I did vary the speeds a lot though. Not letting it stay at one RPM/Speed for prolonged periods.

I've had good experience with the methods used in the page with several vehicles:
http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm

It may not be for you though, its your bike do what you want.

Awesome bike! I think you'll enjoy the V&H. The big radius pipes are extremely cool. Congrats!

know what you mean about quiet, bought mine just under 2 weeks ago
and installed the slip on's night before last.
It sounded too much like a Shadow, now it sounds like a Harley.

also with the break in, i have been varying the speed with occasional
bursts up to 75, will hit 300 miles on way home from work today and then
with the scheduled rides for this weekend i hope to be over 500.
