Used Superglide Custom price question
#11
Thanks
I went to a dealer who sells used Harleys, nothing but, and sat on several. I'm flip flopping between the Heritage and Superglide Custom. Something has happended to my joints in old age and I think I need forward controls, or at least as fwd as with the Heritage. Another thing I heard here that's solid is all the after market 'stuff'. If anything, it reduces the appeal to me if the exhaust or motor has been altered. The dealer started a really nice custom for me and the exhaust was almost open and there was an add on performance thing that made it run like a drag bike. In my mind, the price should be reduced, not bumped up , since all I see is headaches.
I think some of these dealers are buying up the lower priced private sales and reselling. It might make more sense to hold off until later in the year. This is prime MC and Boat buying weather.

Go for the Superglide Custom. I bought a 2011 last week. The dealer I purchased from has a sale with $1500 off MSRP on Dynas. I couldn't resist. In either case take both bikes for a test ride. I found my 2000 Softail to be to rough on the old back. It just beat me up. The 11 Superglide is much softer than the Softail. It absorbs the road bumps better (IMHO). I know you are looking for used but the Superglide in black base MSRP is 12,999.00. Tax and license brings it up a bit more but so far its a fun bike to ride.
