Fuel gauge readings after 2" tank lift? Some wrong but not all?
#21
I just put a 2" jackyl lift on my '08 and love it. Try it, even if you don't like the gauge readings or tank life after install, you can always take it off and either keep it or sell it again. I'd post a few pics I took after the install but the little "photo" icon at the top of this box won't let me do it but believe me it flows nicely into the lines of the seat on a WG.

Thread starter here, thanks for all the replies!
So to sum it up: just test it and you can take it off if for some reason (selling the bike or whatever) you want the readings to be as they were before the lift?
You wont ruin the readings/low fuel warnings if you put it on and then take it off, it will go back to how it was original?
(this is redundant, just want to make sure)

Was riding the bike (in a horrendous rain storm last night - FL) and I would appear if the tank goes up 2 inches, the handle bars will hit it when the wheel moves lock to lock. Will I also need to install different risers? Bummer, just got a different set of risers to fit a beautiful nacelle which should be delivered in a couple of days. Thanks, Kevin.

I Dont use the gauge , normally put fuel in when the light comes on. It usually takes around 3 gallons (125 to 140 miles on my odometer). That light bugs the **** outta me when it comes on so I normally just stop when it does or shortly thereafter and fill er up. I have a 2" Jackyl lift. I love the way the lift compliments the bikes looks and lines.

No, you don't need different or taller risers, just re adjust your bars up a little. But with a 2" lift, your overall fuel capacity has to be reduced somewhat, by how much, I don't know for sure.
