Default How to install a new petcock

I just changed out my gas tank and need help with the petcock. I have an 02 FXD. The petcock has right handed threads on the tank and left handed on the petcock. I can't seem to get it threaded properly can anyone give me some guidence? Also should I be using a loctite of some sort on this petcock before installing?

The thread on some are 3/8-18 NPTF dryseal pipe. Some are 22MM nut straight with a o-ring gasket. Some are 13/16 nut. What makes you think the petcock is left hand threads?

Maybe I shouldn't have said left handed thread. When you tighten the nut to the tank it draws the petcock up with it. You mount the one nut to the petcock first then take the entire unit and thread the net to the tank. Doesn't seem to draw tight.

With you. There should be a gasket down inside the nut that screws to the tank. No loctite
