Default Modifying shocks

Can the shocks on an 08 FatBob be shortened and still retain the oem appearence? Who would perform such a service?

These guys claim to be able too. Might shoot them an e-mail and see what they say.

Can it be done, yes. The only thing to take not consideration is the the factory shock are absolute garbage and spending money on them is probably not wise. If it was me I would use the money towards quality suspension components instead of trying to polish a turd.

That sounds like good advice. Just to mention, plenty of people will pay in the neighborhood of 100-125 dollars for stock Fatbob shocks as they are shorter than many earlier Dyna's and still have the chrome cover. Right there you half way to a set of 412's or at least a good bit of change closer to higher end shocks. I can't believe shortening shocks will produce any where near the ride quality you will get from a set of shocks that are meant to be that length.

I took apart my stock shocks on my VROD and shortened them. Pretty easy process. I did not notice a difference in the ride.
