Dyna Super Glide Custom - 1st Harley
I just bought my first Harley today. She's a 2005 FXDCi . I just traded out my lovely Triumph Sprint 1050ST. This bike came with Screaming Eagle silencers (mufflers). They are rather loud, even by my standards. They look as though they have something bolted in the ends, but what ever it is it doesn't seem to do much sound deadening. I don't want to revert to the standard silencers as they are way too quiet (dangerously so). I was wondering about replacing the ineffective 'baffle' with a tube of perforated steel and pack it in with RockWall (fibre glass insulation), to take the edge off the bark.
I'm guessing if I change the exhaust I will need to adjust the fuelling map. The Triumph forum linked to a cracking piece if free software that allowed us to connect to our bike's ECU via an USB cable. When I fitted a straight through pipe, I was able to tune the map to suit the pipe. Is there anything similar available for Harleys?
Does anyone know where I can download a workshop manual for my new hog?
Is there a good solution for fitting a tacho, without buying the obscenely priced solution from the Harley dealers ?
Thanx for your help,
Ralph
