I'll have to try different combinations to see what I like the best and which is most comfortable.

Personally, I prefer comfort over elegance, but it'll be nice if I can incorporate both qualities into the overall foot-rest situation.
I"m 6'1", and the mid controls have me awkwardly folded up, so the forward controls are a necessity for me.I have the Kuryaken stirrups on my forward controls and they made a huge world of difference, but on long runs I still found my legs needed a different place to step on. The foot boards idea seemed a little "heavy" visually to me, which is why went with the stirrups.

I don't want a crash bar up front, visually it's not my style, so the mid pegs made the most sense.

You would love the mini floor boards they bolt right where the mid pegs are , your feet are firmly flat and a lot of room , they are fully adjustable meaning they slide back and forth and pivot !

Default Foot pegs part number?

I think that I would benefit with installing mid pegs on my fatbob. Just wondering, do you happen to have the part numbers? I will be great to have.

thanks

I got to choose when I bought my Fat Bob...never thought twice about it and went with mids. The debate between mids/forwards is almost as controversial as the helmet debate. For me, one of the Fat Bob's main strengths is its handling ability. Putting forwards on a Fat Bob just doesn't seem right.

I put all the part numbers from my install in this post:

You will also need to purchase a pair of pegs to suit or get some stockers off E-Bay or wherever.

when my mid mounts get here i have a set of nightster pegs that im going to install, they are about 1" shorter than the stock WG pegs.
hopefully they will be comfortable and not really noticable when folded up

For the record:
Item Number Description
---------------------------------
50666-07 FOOT PEG BRACKET and B(rake mount) - Crinkle black paint
50667-07 Support, FTPEG. LH - - Crinkle black paint.
3214 SCREW, TAPPING, FXD' Qty 4 to bolt the brackets to the bike
7045 LOCK WASHER, Qty 4 for the four bolts above
4180 SCREW BUTTON HEAD T(orx) - Qty 2 to bolt down the foot pegs
7667 NUT HEX LOCK Qty 2 - Nylock nuts for the foot peg bolts

Not listed:
2 of the spring washers that fit between the peg and the inner wall of the peg mount to hold the pegs up.
2 foot pegs of your choice
Locktite Blue for the 4 bracket bolts

You can also get the brackets in chrome, but they are nearly double the cost.

The only issue I have is the ~5/8" diameter polished steel pin that acts as a pivot for the brake pedal on mid-control equipped bikes.Visually the pin sticks out a bit too much. I should have painted that pin flat black before I bolted that right side together.

Maybe a project for next weekend

CYa!

My years of riding dirt bikes have taught me that mid-controls are just where the shifter and brake are supposed to be. Twisties and forward controls feel wrong to me.
And stretching out without that stuff in the way makes different foot positions possible. I found that forwards made my feet stay in 1 position and cramped me up on longer rides. Forwards aren't for me but a couple of my brothers can't ride with mids so to each their own
