Default my first oil leak...hoorah! 2007 street bob

drove up to the store, walked out and there was 5 or 6 drips, right below the primary cover coming from off the drain plug,

i recently changed out two out of the three fluids but didn't do the primary, probably just a dried out "0" ring on the drain plug

ya think?

its not dripping off the gear oil drain plug from the tranmission or the motor oil drain plug, those are the two i changed.

this is coming from right off the primary drain plug, i haven't changed that since last riding season when i did all three and adjusted the clutch,

i was lazy and wanted to ride right away so i haven't gotten around to changing the primary fluid yet, though i have the stuff to do it,

on the weird side, when i got it home i wiped off the drain plug and put a socket on it and gave it a little twist and put a piece of cardboard under it to see if that made any difference, and NO LEAK!

ah well, guess i'll pull the primary off tomorrow and do all the changing and adjusting and what not, should do the trick

If you didn't touch the primary drain plug then my guess is
inner primary leak

I think if you check the back side of the inner primary
you will find it is oily

i jest went out and took a quick look, weather just turned real bad here and its getting ready to pour rain anyway

i have the black engine housing so its hard to notice oil on it but i got down under it real quick and the bottom left side a little back from the shifter looks wet,
but i ran my finger right around the bottom of the primary cover and it came off dry, so its farther back than that,
come to think of it i was out riding with my son today and i stopped the bike about a mile from my house to look at a yard sale, and when i went back to start it it made an odd clunk sound when it first turned over,
i don't know! well i got the damn manual and a garage full of tools, i'm unemployed right now so any labor is coming from me

i'll keep you all updated see if i can get to it tomorrow

This is real easy, don't fret it. You can have all this done in less than 2 hours if you take your time.
