Still a fun ride though, we locals call it "The Loop" because it takes you outside city limits but gets you back through that mountain backroad.

I have landed at that airport many times. Before they extended the runway too, thank god Lacsa served free rum. It's still the number 2 most extreme airport in the world. Was # 1 before the 900 foot runway extension. That was like landing on an aircraft carrier that was sitting at the foot of a mountain range.

Ha! You've been here? That's pretty cool! when you come by again, shoot me a PM! We'll do some scenic riding.

Yeah, Toncontin airport used to be so dangerous pilots would get special training just to learn how to land here. It's crazy how the government decided that the original runway was long enough for commercial aircraft. My people disappoint me sometimes.

I kind of lived in Costa Rica in 97 and 98. Spent all of my time there when I was off the ship anyway. Used to fly Lacsa flight 670 and 671 from New Orleans which was the milk run. Cancun, San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, then San Jose. I haven't been anywhere but the airport but that was certainly a good buzz killer, lol.

That looks like a cool run though might be a good future vacation. Is there a place where I could rent a bike there? That's a pretty good haul from Texas. Tambien hablo espanol, soy gringo pero diez anos trabajando en Mexico y estaba casado con una Colombiana.

Ja! Que pequeño es el mundo! Bueno, if you ever swing by here again, lemme know. We don't have bike rentals just yet, but thanks for the suggestion! Sounds like a business venture I'd like to see more into.

Not to stray away too far from the ape hanger topic, this is a pic of me and my girl down that very road, back when I had the guts to ride without a front fender...big mistake. It rained like a MF**ER that very trip later on, felt like waterboarding!

I want to put some higher bars on my FLD. Just not sure how high yet. I appreciate all the pictures. Definitely helps me decide.

I answered this once already but it didn't show up. I am offshore using satellite internet and sometimes a post doesn't show up for a day or so. Anyway I kind of lived in Costa Rica in 97 and 98 or at least went there every time I was off the ship. Would take Lacsa flight 670 and 671 from New Orleans which was the milk run. Left at 7:00 am via Cancun, San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa then on to San Jose. Before we would land in SPS I would switch from orange juice tot he free Centenario rum so that I would have a good buzz before landing in TGU. That was quite a buzz killer.

The ride looks fun but I would have to rent a bike, thats a long way from Texas. I might have to come take that trip with you some time in 2014.

What the tallest rise apes that can be put on a 2014 Streetbob with stock cables and wires?
I'm toying with the idea of getting some 12" or 14" bars but not if I have to change cables, etc.

I'll look for your write up thanks.

Just a note that I've read the "relocate your clutch cable to the right side" comment before but mine is and always has been on the right side...
Yours wasn't?
