Lol Thanks man. It was scary. An alternate thread title for this could have been "Mr. Barz' Wild Ride!" because my memory of it makes me think of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride...lol...I would have crapped my drawers if I wasnt clenchin' cheek so tight...lol

I think you may have mis-matched brake fluids in the caliper & master cylinder. Your master cylinder cap may say DOT 5 (I think that was more common on older bikes) if you have a newer caliper it may have had DOT 4 in it.
Here's some search results from the 'Wheels, Tires and Brakes' forum that may be pertinent to your brake failure.

My caliper is off of a 03 XL. Same part number as mine original caliper. They take dot 5. Thanks for getting all that info for me though. It is appreciated.

Also as far as the electrical goes I found the problem. It's a pinched or split wire in the harness leading to the fuse panel. I pulled on it to see if I could see anything was stripped and the breaker stopped clicking and all my lights came on. It runs and everything now. I also had a wire for the headlight that was completely severed. So tomorrow when I have some daylight i'm gonna have to take care of all that and put on my 21" front wheel. Then determine the issue with the master cylinder.

Wow, man, sounds like 95 and 495 up here, by DC. Nice riding, and so glad you kept the shiney side up. Glad to hear things are coming around as far as figuring out the fixes.
