Default Homemade black axle nut covers for the dyna

Because I'm a scrooge, I can afford black axle nut covers, but also because I'm a scrooge I can't bring myself to pay $100 for covers for the front and rear. I also like to build things in my garage (AKA I don't like being in the house with the old lady's babble - but don't tell her that).

Anyways, $15 dollars worth of parts and about 3 hours worth of work with picture taking in the middle. I like to let the paint dry at least a week before I install my parts, so I don't have pics of them installed yet but here is a little write up of the procedure.

they look good. nice job.
it cost you 15 bucks so it probably cost Harley 3 bucks using Tiawanese slave labor.
they sell for $50
you should put some on e-bay for $35ish and make some nice cash.

They do look very good.
As far as ebay for $35ish?
That leaves you $20 for 3 hours work.
labour = $6.66 per hour.

You would have to make your cash off the shipping like everyone else.

Just saying.

Some time may be saved if you look around at some plumbing supply houses. Many have either forged steel or stainless steel caps that are already smooth on the outside. Some will have a weld style that the internal threads are not there. They may cost a few more dollars and require some work to find though.

Good idea. I can get both of those very easily around my house. I will have to check on those. The Ebay thing may be a good idea after all.

Good work and nice write up. Saved $$$ AND time in the garage (escaping the "babble") is always a good thing! Post up the pics when installed.
