Default Anyone in SoCal who can do gauge LEDs?

I've gotta 10 FXDC first off....

Anyway I've searched a lot on this site about changing the backlight on my gauge and it looks like Marty does great work but I don't want my bike down for a week.

Does anyone know of someone here in So Cal who does it? I ran across a craigslist ad but the ad was expired so I couldn't email the guy.

I'm not in SoCal, but I've done the job on a car I used to own. It was tedious work, but it came out great in my opinion. I'd be willing to help you out if you needed. PM me if interested. I know you're trying to get someone local....

04FXDL, is it a simple case of pulling the gauge apart and having the time and patience to de sodder the old LEDS and replace with new?

I can understand Cacolade wanting to change them out, the guage lighting totally sucks, especially if your under street lamps you can barely read the gauge at all.

another option is to change out the gauge face.

or do both

nice! you must have posted the craigslist ad, it was from sherman oaks.

i just installed the flush mount cap and gauge with blue LED so now my speedo is begging to be blue LEDed. i will definitely give you a ring.

Default gauge lights/LED

Yes, it is that "simple" to just pull apart gauge face and desolder the old and resolder the new in place. It was at least with my cars that I have done. Sorry I haven't responded sooner, been away for a bit. If you find someone cheap enough to do it for you and you're nervous about doing it yourself, go for it. If you have the right tools and more importantly, PATIENCE, this is something that can easily be done in a few hours (depending on how many LEDs are in there.

Swapping out the whole gauge for a new one is expensive in my opinion, but hey, it's your scoot.

I'd love to see the finished product from anyone who does this, either route.
