Well,.... I figured I would just have the guy shoot red on the belt guard as well when he does the other stuff and if it dont suit my eye,....black paint is alot cheaper than that H-D Fire Red Pearl,... or might just get a chrome one then. I figured at that point I might as well see how it will look in Red, but if all else fails,...... there is always chrome,.....LOL

I like the contrast myself. But would be a nice option.

Yeah I agree the frame painted to match would look cool, but there aint no way I've got the patience to break my bike down completely to the frame,........LOL

Question for KeithB,

Last Wed. I purchased my first Harley. I only stopped to look (honest ;-) It was the last 06 on the show room floor.
A Dyna Super Glide. They were asking a get it out of here price that I just could not walk away from.
So within an hour my V-star was history and the 06 Dyna was all mine.

Anyway being used to the forward controls of the V-star, I realized real fast that I need them on the Dyna.
Is this an easy do it your self job?
What covers up the shifter hole on the side cover?
What do you do about the notch in the exhaust pipe guard when you remove the current foot peg mount?

Thanks & blessings

Lamar :-)

if you buy the 06 forwards kit it has a plug for the hole.

It's easy, if you decide to do it your self let me know i will find you some threads that explain it

the notch in the heat shield i don't worry about, you could buy the WG heat shield

Another option is the 05 kit and leave the shifter lever in place and cap it

KeithB,

Did you remove the shaft as well? The dealers labor price is somewhat pricey but it may sure be a lot less hassles if your gonna remove the shaft.

i removed the shaft but i cut it from behind.

Easy but not a job for theh timid. You tape everything off including engine, inner primary, fram and cross member, anything you might rub. tape off a hacksaw blade with elec tape all but 3" and take you time and cut it

I think they'd look great Kieth. Best thing is you can just buy them right from HD.
