Who Doesn't Like Fuel Injection and Why?

RE: Who Doesn't Like Fuel Injection and Why?
Somedays I like it, some days I don't. I do wish I had the ability to turn down my idle and richen it up without spending $500+ when I could rejet a carb and manually play with the idle for $50. Blowing the weeds back and dust up everytime I start it, inmy eyes, isn't cool.

My bike is carbed and I like it that way, just seems right to me. I like that it is supposedly in-efficient (don't know or really care) b/c that in my opinion is what I like about a HD. Most of their bikes represent "the way it used to be in the good ol' days" so old technology works w/ a classic looking bike for me. As far as hard to start, I can't say I have experienced that although it doesn't get all that cold here. Pull the choke, hit the switch and a controlled combustion event occurs...what's not to like? When this one is paid off and I get that slick Italian (pronounced eye-talian) job, I'll want efi but that's for another board.

Well...never owned an EFI bike but I see the benefits they can offer. My carb'd WG runs great, idles great and never is a bitch to start when cold. Of course "cold" here in South Texas means 25 degrees at the lowest, but hey...
We should start a points vs. electronic ignition thread...nevermind...

If I could find a good article on changing form efi to carb. I will switch my 07 dyna back to a carb. I have not liked the fi since I bought this bike. I love the bike but hate the fi. Running it is fine, no complaints. Just does not like to fire the first time you hit the starter button cold or warm. Yea, it has been to the dealer a couple of times for it. They tell me it is fixed everytime an still does the same thing in there parking lot when leaving.

What causes the loss of the Potato Potato sound on the efi?
I thought that would be a charateristic of the firing order and single pin crank.
I heard it was because EFI has to have a higher idle for some reason...Sure don't sound like a shovelhead. Mine goes Potater Potater.
