Go to the top of a steep hill, park sideways close to the edge, put down the jiffy stand in some soft dirt and walk away for a little while (have a smoke or whatever). When you come back it will be roughed up a bit. That would add some character...
I got my 2011 Fat Bob all set up for the season and went to a local bike night here in Mass only to realize that my perspective while setting up the bike was skewed.
I wanted a hardcore "dirty bob" and I got a clean "pretty bob"...any suggestions other than getting it dirty and not washing it? Where did I go wrong? Any ideas on how I can rough it up a bit? Maybe I just need to ride the s&!t out of it and not polish it....
Try riding farther than the local bike night; miles tend to give a bike that lived in look so many people seem to want to emulate artificially these days. To me the term "hardcore" tends to conjure up a less is more type of aesthetic. don't muck your bike up with allot of bolt on crappity crap from the dealer G.m.a catalog. Put down your visa and slowly back away from the parts counter!
I believe the OP is getting the responses he intended with his post. None of which was for responses on how to make it look rough...
You got that right.. If he really wanted "a hardcore "dirty bob". He wouldn't have bought that color.
And all this because he went to a local Bike Night?
He should have titled his post. Hey Guys ,Tell me how pretty my Bob is.
