Default Will I Need New Mirrors?

09 Dyna Low Rider is in an indie shop getting new 10" bars mounted. Wondering how the stock mirrors are going to work on them and if I'll need new ones.

If the bars are the same width or wider you will be okay. I like to see behind me though, and often even the stock set-ups just give me an arm and shoulder view, you'll have to wait and see.

Why are you having a shop mount your bars? Do you plan to take the bike back if wider mirrors are needed? These are simple swaps.

IMO the stock mirrors look awful and look even worse on any kind of apes or higher bars i have the issue at the moment as i have my new 16" apes and am thinking about mirrors i have been thinking about bar end mirrors or maybe some of the smaller ones and mounting them under the bars this however would not be pratical i guess on 10" bars.
If i were you i would look for some good quality aftermarket mirrors i have tried a few and i must say most have been shocking so still looking.

Regards Brad

Can't think of why you need new mirrors, unless it is just an aesthetics issue.

I have used the stock mirrors on 12" and 16" apes. The higher the bars, the better rear view I had with the mirrors.

Heres some 10 inch bars with stock mirrors. The work flawlessly. No issues at all. They are ugly, but the function on 10 inch bars was actually better than the stock bars as my field of view was greatly improved.

The stock mirrors always seem to big. I mounted a Arlen Ness on mine and love it. But I have 14in apes not 12

Thanks everyone. Just wasn't sure if changing the height, etc., would be a problem. Having an indie shop do the work cause I just don't care to do my own wrenching any more. I'll be 74 this year and my hands and arms bruise and cut quite easily (one of the effects of aging for a lot of people). Even a minor bump on the back of the hand will cause an ugly bruise that takes several days to go away. What for most people would be only a minor scratch would be a bleeding cut for me. Can't be fixed or cured so I'll let a shop do all but something pretty minor.
