skak,
This is a close up pic of my 2" tank lift I got from Rudedog, and I believe it looks pretty damn good. And hopefully your "trash" comments were humor that I was just unable to detect because of being online. http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h6...28/tank001.jpg John |

ORIGINAL: Alaska Bobber Dude, I was just taking a good look at the front mount on my tank and thinking the same thing. So are you gonna repaint your tank straight black or do some graphics? Or what???? I need to learn to TIG....... When I want Heliarc a friend does that for me, I don't have the machine. Probably won't go back solid black. I have a different set of fenders, tank, covers, So I can keep the original tins packed away when I finish modifying these I'll swap out. I am making some radical changes on everything. mud |

48 Willy's Overland Pickup. Dana 60 Front. Dana 70 rear. Has a 4.0 liter Inline Six for a motor, AW4 Transmission, 203 rangebox mated to a Dana 300 for the T-cases. Full Hydrolic steering. Disc Brakes all the way around. Tires are 42" Super Swamper Iroks. Suspension is a Triangulated upper 4 link in the front and a custom Leaf setup in the rear.
I am a Jeep Nut too....can you tell. I knew that weld was MIG. I was just saying I need to learn to TIG so I can make pretty welds on thin material. I mig everything with my Idealarc 250. 70s and 25/75 gas. Making stuff rocks. You should do a build-up thread for your bike. I LOVE watching people build up thier stuff. |
RE: Before & After Chopper Style Tank Lift
I made a tank lift for my 05 fxst. Spent more than $5 but definitly didn't spend $70. Looks as good as the real deal. Bought chrome hardware for it and I think it looks just as professional as the real thing. Let me know What you think!
