A TANK LIFT...??? Geeeeezzzz... Some thing new...??? Hope ya didn't pay more than $5.00 for it.... Skak.. No offence man but, had you done a simple site search on TANK LIFTS, you would of found all the information you would ever need in either making your own or purchasing a set from Rudedog a forum member... This is why they tell when you first join this site to do a search on any question you may have, it could save you $$$... Some of the dealers like J&P are selling them for around $50+.... I did mine a 3" lift with metal stock from Lowe's and Wally World... alot of the guys did it here.. Check these posts out.. for info.. Later Skee
After rereading my original post... I apologize... Skak. I could of said the same thing a whole lot differently... As far as the items we made... I don't know how others turned out but, mine and Rudedogs look good and are safe... Also, the chopperstyle kit and the J&B kit are the same and at the same price... mikeurig..Hmmm...I think I've done that a time or two..LOL. 1ironhead... That's a good idea...

Hey, no sweat. J&P buys their kit from ChopperStyle. Like I said, I've seen ALL the lift kits posted here and none look as good as the ChopperStyle/J&P kit. Maybe you could post a pic of your bailing-wire lift so we could all have a look at it. Unless you're too shy...

Not shy... As soon as I get my camera back from my son... I'll shoot a couple... I owe PsTaN some on my pull back risers... My Son's idea of borrowing and mine are two different things...LOL

The tank lift looks good man, but I'm REALLY diggin those black head covers. If you don't mind, how much did those set you back? Did Zanottis give you their typical 20% discount?

RE: Before & After Chopper Style Tank Lift

Like some others here, I made my own tank lift. It didn't take me too long to decide that I needed one because when looking at a stock bike from the side, the rear fender struts and the bottom of the tank are on different planes. My tank lift is 2" and that aligned the tank, fender struts and exhaust pipes all at the same angle. Although a very subtle change, in my opinion, the bike now looks cleaner. Most people wouldn't even notice it. Another plus is that it is easier to clean the top of the engine, and it may be my imagination, but it seems as though the wind buffeting on the road has lessened....

This is frigging rediculous! Why are you guys bustin' peoples a$$es about wanting to do a modification themselves instead of paying some aftermarket retailer 3X the price it takes to make it?

Thanks for the back-up Skee and Ronn but this, skak, guy sounds like one of those, "mines better than yours because I paid more for it." people. I have no time for that type.

I've said what I wanted, now I'm outta here

17618-99 ROCKER COVER LOWER BLACK
$ 49.54

17620-99 ROCKER COVER UPPER BLACK
$ 44.49

You'll need 2 of each plus $15 worth of rocker cover gaskets. Sorry, I don't have the part number for the gaskets. There are 2 gaskets for each set of rocker covers.

I got to say I really like those covers too my rockers never get pollished so they're always looking like ass.
