I am replacing my 07 Street Bob damper bushings with polyurethane bushings. What is the foot pounds of torque for the bolts?

 

Riser fasteners get 30-40 ft-lbs poly bushings is my to list next week after i fix a few things on my bike. which bushings did you get? i went with the $10 jobbers from drag.

 

I probably should have went cheaper but I just went ahead and got the Harley poly bushings. Made a hell of a difference and got rid of the slop and I didn't notice any extra vibration.

 

i probley would have also but the dealer had a hard time conviceing me to part with my $40 bones

 

Put on a set of the H-D polys, torqued them to the upper limit and the vibration in the hands got a whole lot worse, not to mention the mirrors became even more useless. I re-torqued them to the lower end and it seemed to help out a little, but the vibration is still worse than the rubbers. I took a quick ride with them down at about 20 ft-lbs and the vibration seemed even less (probably was the cold motor mounts more than anything)...but I prefer that a critical part of my bike not be under torqued to that extent so put them back at 30.

 

Peter, I went with the Arlen Ness damper kit through J & P Cycles for $30. I'm hoping they make a noticable difference.
