Default rear shock set up

blackin out my street bob and looking at a set of black progressive 412's. Would like to lower the bike in the process.. What is the best set up of lowering blocks and shock length? dont want to be scrapping my pipes.. also are the 412's an upgrade over the stock shocks? i am 6 ft 175 lbs.

Just use shorter shocks without lowering blocks. That way your shocks work at a better angle than with lowering blocks. The 412's are better than factory but I think just about anything is. If you can swing it the 440's are really good and you can adjust preload without a tool on the 440's if your load varies.

The 412s may be better than factory but when you get them an inch shorter than factory to lower the bike be ready for some harsher riding when hitting bumps.
Still not bad enough to change them back to longer shocks though.

Works streettracker shocks work fine with allot of adjustment.
I went 5/8" longer for a better ride and better cornering.
Longer is better.
My 2 cents.
