Default 99 wide glide.. no spark.. help!

hello all, some help would be greatly appreciated,rode the bike wednesday, no problem,thursday morning, no start, checked and no spark to the plugs. i was told it was most likely the crank position sensor, i can't afford to buy parts that i don't need ( who can?) can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem and zero in on the culprit thanx in advance for your input

I think the connector for the sensor is under your seat. Follow the wire from the engine to the connector. Turn over the motor slowly and you should voltage interruption at certain points during rotation. If not the sensor is bad. I think it is usually about 5 volts. The manual shows checking between the black wire and one labeled BX. I looked specifically but hopefully this helps some.
