If it's not for show then why start a thread titled How's my bike look and then ask about the emblems? Just kidding. Sorry, but I couldn't resist. I ride 30 miles each way and there are plenty of days were bags would be great. As far as the emblems, I like them. I just pulled my badges off a couple of weeks ago because I didn't like the stock ones, and now I'm trying to decide what to go with as I like the look of something on the tank.

But the bags are just a necessity for me. Its that or a back pack, and the back pack looks worse.
Personally though, Kinda like the bags.
