Default New Dyna owner!

Once again, long time lurker, second time poster, haha!

I've had a few bikes through the years. My first bike was a Chopsmiths-built '06 Sporty....

Owned a gook bike I never rode, then moved on to another sporty project that ended as this....

Sold that thanks to one....ahem....less than savory female....owned another gook bike i rode for a month and doubled my money on, and had been without a bike for 5 months.....

....until now. Here's my newest pickup, '01 FXDX.

Has some mini-apes, screamin eagle slip ons and air cleaner, smoothed rear fender, shock-bolt plate mount, forward controls, custom rear signals, some chrome pieces, other doodads. Needs a few little things, but got it for a song, so I'm happy as a pig eatin' slop.

Plans include new rubber, a burly slammer kit, and pipes more suited to my taste. and I'm sure some odds and ends along the way.

See you fellas on the road....

-S.K.

You're going to take an FXDX and lower it? What's the point? Why didn't you just buy a normal FXD if you're going to do that. Leave the few FXDXs left for those of us who care about how a bike handles.

It was the right price, and if I cared about carving corners, I'd have bought a Buell. And honestly, posts like this make it more enticing to start in on. I had no idea there'd be purists worried about a ten year old Harley. LOL.

I'll be sure to post pics along the way. I ordered my Burly kit tonight, and I'll be picking up a Santee lake pipe later this week. Getting started already!

To be fair, the whole (10 year old Harley) kinda rubs me the wrong way.

I didn't know, you should stop caring about a bike because of its age.

But I agree, that if the price was right, its your bike, you do what you want, and no one should tell you other wise.

I rode sport-bikes for many years before I bought my FXDX. I bought it because it was the best bike for me, a little of both worlds. I would never lower it.

Than again, I would never bash a man for doing so either.

Do your own thing with your own bike. Whatever it is. But the rule is: PICS REQUIRED!
