Anyone get rid of the center taillight dongle? I want to shave mine and just run the two side lights like a wideglide. The dealer said I would need some kind of load qualizer, but that didn't make sense to me since the center taillight doesn't flash like a turn signal. Any thoughts? Do they make a wiring kit or something?

Doing the same thing with my 2009. I am going to use Nightster 3 wire turn signals and the converter off of a Wide Glide. You can get a stop run box for your 2 wire signals for a lot less, but the difference between run and stop don't seem very great with some of them.

 

I'm pretty sure my rear signals are already three wire. They are running lights, turn signals, and they also do brake light. I guess I just need the wideglide converter? I don't even know what that is or means, but it sounds good...

 

You don't need to buy anything for the electrical. Just remove the brake light and figure how you want to cover the hole. I chopped my fender after I removed mine
