Default Is this a good deal?

Ok, so I found a bike that I'm strongly considering buying. Its a 2008 Street Bob with 11,000 miles. It has Vance and Hines 2-1 pipes, forward controls, and a mustang solo seat. The bike fits great, feels comfortable and is in great shape. Paint is great. They are asking $12,000 which seems to be on the high end, I could be wrong. Any advice? Where should I begin negotiations? Any input would help, dont want to get screwed.

That sounds about 2+ grand too high. You can duplicate those mods for around $1000 and find a lower mileage bike for far less money.

Those three mods on my bike cost me under $750, brand new. Paid $8660 for my '07 over a year ago, absolutely flawless, new tires, just serviced, from a dealer, with 7900 miles.

I just bought a brand new 2011 for about $14 OTD. 12 seems high to me, an 08 is already a 3yr old bike, about to be a 4yr old bike when the 2012's hit the streets. I would keep looking, or maybe price a new one. I know here in N. Texas there are a couple of dealers with left over 2010 models and I think they are working deals on them. Good luck, and happy hunting!!

WoW ! Guess I'm way off on my '08 Dyna Custom. The blue book says $13650.00 in stock condition with low miles. I've got over 2k in mods and just 6k on the odometer. thought that I was giving a good deal including the wheel dock, manuals and all the stock parts for blue book price. What do you members think is a fair price then?
BTW: bike is flawless just have one two many.

I just picked up an 08 with 19K for 8. wait for the best deal you can find, then haggle, start with a low ball and go from there. Don't be afraid to pay exactly what you think the bike is worth not what the seller thinks. If he is in love with it then he won't let it go, if he needs the money then deals can always be made. Most people don't understand that all the money they put into a bike means nothing when selling it. No one cares that you have 5K in chrome attached to your bike.
