I just bought a 2008 FXDC with 4000 miles with SE kit and rush pipes sadle bags and HD quick release sheild and paid 9000 for it. But to answer your question a bike is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

I think that if someone's does put on $5000 in Chrome it should be worth more. When buying a Bike one of the reasons I bought Harley is I thoughtthe had good resale value compared to other manufactures Maybe this is not correct

BTW: bike is flawless just have one two many.
Hate to tell you but I did not pay that for a 2011. In the 80's and 90's you could buy a HD and make $$ off them at resale, I figure the last couple did not cost me anything out of pocket. But I have found that extra chrome, mufflers etc. really don't add value unless you find someone that is willing to pay for it.

Harley flooded the market with Motorcycles . Therefor killing the resale of most of our bikes . That, and the economy is so bad, that no one (not many) is buying .

Where should I begin negotiations? Any input would help, dont want to get screwed.
No way. Got my 2011 for 1500 off msrp. That is way over priced for a 2008.

I bought a 07 Low Rider with 3600 miles, Vance and Hines Big Shots, Fuel Pack and High Flow AC, Lepara Bare Bones Seat, Stock 2 up seat, Drag Bars and Stock Bars, Bike Cover and Service Manual all delivered to my house for $9700.... Bought it last August. I found it on CL and there are a lot of good deals out there. Be patient as that one sounds to be over priced. I would keep looking...

My '09 FXDC was $9k...a year ago!

You can find lame over-priced deals all day long w/o trying.

Try harder.

Thanks for the feedback on the price I'm asking for my '08 FXDC. I wonder why the bluebook says $13650.00 when everyone is getting better deals than that. I know that the extra money I put into the bike was just for my pleasure and wasn't trying to get that back, as a fact I was throwing in the manuals , wheel chock, cover and all the original parts. Everything I had bought for the bike was top shelf so I considered it a good deal. Guess I'll just keep it for the days when the Road King is too slow and i feel the need for speed.
