I went to the dealer to get a replacement primary drain plug for my 02 FXD, dealer tells me it's a tappered drain plug.i remove my drain plug and it has an o ring on the plug and tappered does not.My bike has the HD chrome engine kit. Is it possible that the stock aluminum primary had a tappered primary drain plug, and the Chrome primary has a O ring style primary drain plug, .The reason i am asking is my drain plug is leaking, and no longer sure what type drain plug i should be using.

 

My 2000 Road King had an o-ring on it. If it's leaking just replace the o-ring.

 

Should be tapered as far as I can tell......maybe that is why it leaks...parallel plug?
