Default preload change?

Hey guys Im riding an 07 SB with the stock suspension and a barebones seat and pillion... well the GF is complaining that the bike is uncomfortable for her... I know the barebones is NOT helping anything but Im also noticing some bottoming out... was wondering if I could adjust the preload on the stock rear shocks... Ive searched the forum, my owners manual and my maint. guide but cant find anything... Im thinking the next upgrade will be either new rear shocks or MAYBE a nicer seat for her but come on the barebones LOOKS bad ***

Ramp up the preload on the shocks, easy to do.

If you take alittle weight off the rear it will be easier to turn,
I used a drift pin to turn mine

ok cool... Ill need to take a look and see which way the steps go to stiffen it up.... Im asuming I would want to "lengenth" the shock? Essentially turn the shock so the top and bottom of the shock are FURTHER apart?

yeah shes pretty tough but when we got off the bike the other day and her "parts" were hurting bad enough to cause the lovin to be shut off for a night... it peaked my attention to address teh situation quickly

I am a big guy and my '11 wide glide bottoms out a little over big bumps and rollers. I also need to stiffen up my rear spring. I saw a "how to" in my owners manual for the procedure. They show the use of a spanner wrench. I will try the drift idea.
