Default Want a fork brace but not sure I can find one to fit

I am just a few months into owning a Harley after many years of not riding.
I have used this forum to learn huge amounts of things that caused me to part with a good deal of money I never knew I had

My question, I would like a fork brace for my 99 FXDWG. I researched and found that this year model has 41MM forks.
I have even found the brace I want but before I ordered it, I decided to put a set of calipers on my forks.

It appears that the previous owner has changed out the lower forks. They measure 2.9 inches at the top (of the lower fork) where the upper tube slides inside.

I was told this bike has a lot of upgraded parts and the forks were pointed out to me but I did not think the outer diameter of the tubes would be different.
I have no idea what type of lower fork this is and don't know how to go about identifying it.

Back to my question, is there a fork brace for something that large? (2.9 inches or 73.66 millimeters)
I will try to post up a close up picture tonight but it is the forks on my dig picture if you can zoom in

Thanks in advance for any help

Dan

Don't get confused by fork braces...41mm, 49mm etc refers to the fork tube diameter not the fork leg....can't tell without a better pic if you have aftermarket lowers fitted or later harley complete forks...they look like 49mm from here but the pic could be deceptive.

Either upload some close up pics so we can get an ID on them (you may then just need to order a later model brace) or contact the manufacterer and ask for the dimensions of the brace you think will fit. Close up pics would be the best way to go.

Thanks for the info

Here are some better pictures of the forks.
I measured the tubes at the top of the forks and they measure 41MM

Doesn't the brace have to go on the bottom part of the fork that does not move? That is the one that is 3 inches at the point just above the front fender

Sorry for being such an idiot, thanks for the help

They look like the fork on my softail, 41mm. the brace goes on the lower tube just under the dust cover where the upper slides into the lower right above the fender.

Looks like the 41mm on my softy. Brace goes under the dust cover on the lower tube, just over the fender. It leaves only about 1/4 inch clearance between bottom of brace and fender. If theres been fork upgrades to the bike go into the stealer and ask to ID the tube size. either 41mm or 49mm.

opps looks like I double posted
