Like already stated, your hand really effects mileage. I was averaging 46-47 mpg on my carbed Evo. After I installed my EV27 cam, the first couple fill-ups I noticed the mileage dropped substantially. I was barely getting 41mpg. Not till I was able to wipe the grin off my face, stay below 80 mile per hour and stop wacking the throttle at every turn was able to get my mileage back up to the 46ish that is should be. If your really enjoying the ride, mileage plummets.

I didnt buy a bike cause I like gas stations either. I run vieds and can average 45 +-. Hauling camping gear at 65 mph on a 2 lane in 5th gear I am close to 50 mpg. My plugs are as clean as they can get.

I don't think many buy their bikes for gas mileage reasons but it doesn't take much more than a caveman's brain to figure out your gas mileage quickly.
I get around 32-35 mpg in the city but on the highway it gets about 50mpg. Special Ed were you mostly riding around the city when you figured out that gas mileage?

My 06 with SEII slip ons, SE air cleaner, SERT with Latus dyno map gets 44-48. But my map is not radical and is tuned for light performance & mileage. If I really beat on it I'll get it down to 40. But I'll bet if we put both bikes on a dyno you are making more HP/TQ with the TH versus the SEII's.
BTW, I didn't buy this bike for economy either or I would have bought a 250cc Honda.
