Love the paint man, cool to see all the different colors showing through. Is there any more steps to do that as opposed to the "normal" paint job? Or was it just the marbleizer with plastic wrap the only added step? Very interesting though.

Thats pretty much it, but believe me it's one of those things that looks way easier than it really is. The biggest thing with marbelizer is that you have very little time to work with it, or it wont react right. Also the candy adds a lot of depth, it would look completely different it I didn't candy it, to be honest I think marble looks like crap unless its underneath a deep candy.

Man great job it looks fantastic. Please let us all know how you did this. I would like to try to paint an old tank I have but really don't know where to start. Any help you can give me would be great.

...lol thats sorta like asking a magician how to do a trick. If you google "house of kolor marbilizer" you will be able to find detailed instructions on how to do it. I wouldn't advise doing this sorta of paint job starting off. A paint job like that requires many layers to come out like it does.
Here are the steps.
1. sprayed silver, then stenciled
2. sprayed black
3. "Perfect" amount of marbilizer applied... "this is very tricky"
4. Wrapped with plastic wrap
5. sealed with clear base
6.Removed stencil "silver underneath is revealed"
7. Sprayed several coats of candy
8. Taped out oval design
9.Sprayed black
10. Cleared

Keep in mind, every time that another layer is added, the chance for error is greatly increased. This is the reason that custom paint is so high, theres alot of work required.

Default Thank you

952 Dave thanks. As I previously posted I have an old tank that I am not using so I am going to experiment. I didn't want to steal any of your secrets however. I appreciate you sharing with me and the rest of us.

You are quite an artist there. I can only hope to do a quarter as well.

If you have much experience spraying, it isn't to bad. Just make sure to take your time, its a lot fast to take your time and do it once, than really fast twice. Here is a link to some of my recent work...
