To each their own. wrap or not to wrap.
I decided not to because of the heat and figure the shields do a better job of keeping things cool.
Cool is good.
If your out in the country away from traffic jams then that's better than getting stuck in jams with extra hot pipes cooking you.

I cant speak for anyone but myself, the **** works great, and my short shots run much cooler now. I painted my pipes with high temp paint first then came the wrap. I also used wrap made for diesel motors heavy weight **** and stainless steel ties to hold it in place.
