Vance and Hines Slip Ons Questions
#11
I appreciate all the responses....I had done some searching and found a bunch of stuff on warranty voiding, etc, but no clear consensus on whether the slip ons would cause my bike (with less than 1000 miles on it) any engine problems.
Is the "power commander" something that a shop would have to do? Would the dealer give me grief if they found it on the bike at the 1000 mile service?
I almost got run over yesterday on I-95 by some guy who didn't hear me as my stock exhaust is so silent, so I figured I'd better bite the bullet and start thinking of something louder.

Spending too much too fast led me to install Xieds from nightrider that gives your bike a richer mix to help compensate for the more free flowing exaust.
I also installed the K+N air filter element not the whole intake system
Just cheating a little here and there gives the bike a nice low cost no remap boost.
I would highly recomend the Xieds fro just under $100.00 just plug and play.
Easy to pop off if you need to see the dealer.
I do my own service so all stays on.

I have both the V & H Slip-ons and Screaming Eagle air intake on my bike. My dealer told me that the slip-ons alone would run fine as the bike would adjust to the differance they created. Once i upgraded the intake though I had to, at the least, get the Stage 1 Download. The download made a big differance to the bike once it was done.
I have the normal baffles and they are loud, but I would consider it the perfect sound for the bike. It prob breaks the bike exaust laws in edmonton Alberta Canada but **** happens

I had no idea that those XiED's existed....very cool for only $100. I also saw that the V&H fuelpak was in the low $200's as well.
Jaron,
I like those pipes, if you can, send me an email at jmcgill89@gmail.com...as I'd like to talk more without hijacking the thread.

If your worried about the conflicting opinions. Put 'em on, see how she runs, try to notice if you have any change like more pop on deceleration. If everything seems ok check your plugs after about 500-1000 miles and see if they're burning rich or lean and then you'll be able to make your own determination.
