Since when did HD start using Chrome or Stainless spokes? I have had good luck keeping the stock spokes wiped down with a rag with WD40 on it. No rust spots and they stay shiny.

If you use wheel cleaner make sure you use the HD brand

I used some wheel cleaner i bought at auto zone and it ate the clearcoat
off the spokes and they rusted

I am going to have to look around at some bikes. I haven't came across an HD yet that has chrome stock spokes. They all may have appeared to be chrome but they were not actually chromed.

Well they look either chrome or stainless steel to me but definately not the dull cadmium or whatever spokes like my Sportster had.

Yeah that. My spokes look every bit as 'shiny' as the rim/hub does.

A toilet brush works great, it's got a bit of an angle to it. Find one that has not been used on a toilet, if you know what I mean.

+1 ... Yes sir ree! .... a little WD40 on a soft cloth works well. Be careful of using wheel cleaners .... many have harsh chemicals that can attack and corrode plated finishes. Oh ya one more thing ghostrider69 ... that avatar sure don't smell like "bubblegum" ... sniff ...sniff ...sniff !
