Default '92 FXR Craigslist Adventure!

So I was forced to get rid of my '08 Low Rider last fall...been BUMMIN' ever since!!!
Saved my butt off for months, sold some stuff, etc... and started searching Craigslist a few weeks ago for a new bike.
I THOUGHT there's NO WAY I am getting a big twin for 4 grand...gonna have to settle for a Sportster! ugh...oh well...
So the weeks go by.... a few decent deals come up...looked at a few Sporty's... felt SMALL!!!!...didnt pull the trigger...
THEN... 2 days ago I get a CL ALERT about an FXR in Long Island. I open the ad and the bike ('92 FXR Super Glide) looks SWEEEET!
I think WOW...maybe I CAN get a big twin for $4000!
I call...no anwer...I text...no reply...
the next morning at 8 am I call again... hope it's not too early...
He answers and says he's had like 20 calls and is getting ready to return calls. I say, well, r u negitiable (asking $4400) and he says he'd take 4 grand. I said DO NOT return any calls...I'll TAKE IT!
So I am in Rochester NY and he's in Long Island...that's over 300 miles EACH WAY through NYC!!!! ughhhhhhhhhhhhhh
So I got in my car and headed out. 6 hrs later I'm at his door.
The bike Is SWEET. Needs front turn sigs and the Speedo light is out. He has the front fender, original Mag front wheel, another seat, and a sissy bar. Tires are LIKE NEW. Battery is NEW.I got it for $3900!
Next prob is HOW to get it home!!!! I was in my PONTIAC VIBE!!!!
So we take off the seat and front tire and wedge it in the car!!!! (fit GREAT actually!)
Pic shows the bike only partially in the car....we got it in so the back wheel was almost next to me as I drove and the hatch closed about 40%.

after battling traffic jams getting through the Gearge Washington bridge and driving another 6 hours EXHAUSTED I got home with my new FXR.

How did I do?

Awesome score! of all the bikes I've had I miss my '92 FXRS the most. I'd give up my FXD or one right now.

Looks to me like you had to have that bike no matter what! LOL I must say though that for a FXR I would have probably done the same. I'm suprised ya got it to fit in the back there. Good job Dude!
