your scooter would look good with the pipes wrapped leaving about half or less of the muffler exposed.

RE: My 99 FXD
Mud, thanks for the info and idea for my exhaust. I have been trying to make the bike look like an old bobber and with a few more mods I hope to pull it off. The jockey shift/foot clutch is about the most fun I have had on a bike for as long as I can remember. I don't think I will own a bike without it again. Have been thinking about bobbing the rear fender and moving the plate and brake light to a plate on the left side of the bike. Looking for a 32 ford tail light or something else cool to use as a brake light. Not sure about bobbing the fender until I lower the rear. I will either have to find some smaller shocks from a low rider or make something that will work. I try to do everything to the bike myself, making parts like the tank lift, jockey shift, painting it. All parts have been installed by me. I try to swap or look for deals on used parts in keeping to the old skool feel for the bike. Some day I'll be satified...until then I search the local parts trader paper....

I'm bobbing my fender now with a double duckbill harelip.
Sissy bar coming thru the fender mounting on the inside.
Raised the top shock mount to lower another inch and a quarter
without losing the shock travel.
I guess you already know about eBay for parts, I have found some good deals there.
You can find the low rider shocks there I am sure.
I picked up all my "new" tins at ebay so I can repaint and put the stock items into storage.
Gonna reweld the mounting tabs on the tank so I can lift without a lot of extra pieces.
Keep up the good work.

Mud, Brother take some pic's of the fender as you go and post them. Sounds like it is going to look perfect on your bike. mutch better than I had planned for mine. I will be checking in to see what it looks like....Your bike sits perfect. Looks like you lowered the front with the tripple trees. How did you lower the back?

Hmmmm..... I wonder if the Wide Glide lift worked out.... There was something about the triple tree hitting the tank....
