Default How to clean flat black?

So I've painted my bike flat black...now what? How do I care for it? Do I just wash it down with soap and water? Windex? Thanks in advance.

I just use mild dish soap and water with a soft cloth. For me, this works on both the factory denim finish and the stuff that I spray bombed flat black to match.

the factory flat black on my SB i was told from the dealer to only use soap and water and not that car wash stuff with wax in it otherwise it will turn the bike slowly to a whitish...

Should add that it is not factory paint. It's spray bomb Krylon. Thanks.

Did you spray the paint job with a flat clear as well? Soap and water like mentioned will work just fine, but do not wax the paint or it will alter the appearance over time. Also if you didn't use a flat clear the paint job can be damaged easier or get those glossy streaks when something rubs it. A flat clear helps keep the flat black looking better longer.

No clear coat. The first time I did it I used a satin clear and didnt like it. So I sanded it off and did just flat black. MUCH BETTER! Never thought to use pledge. I use that for all kinds of stuff!

I wouldn't use pledge for flat, it might make it shiny. A weak solution of simple green will clean flat paint well and leave it flat. I'm knocking around a flat repaint myself...

Soap, water and a soft cloth. Then shammy it dry if you care that much.

windex is good for water spots and chrome.
