My advice on headphones..and riding...."Don't"
Just my opinion....but I don't want ANYthing taking away from my ability to use my sensory to know what's around me. Sound is nearly as important to eyes to me. I want to hear traffic, or <whatever>. Basic safety. Just like..it's not smart to ride a pedal bike while consumed with headphones.
I also never get tired of the sound of my pipes.
That said...for my listening enjoyment while not riding, Skull Candy is my vote too for great aftermarket buds.

I have always thought that Skull Candy's sucked in the sound quality department. I think they get by on a witty name and designs.
Last two best headsets I have owned are Sony and Phillips Noise cancelling/reduction ones. Sony, IMO, has the best quality for earbuds, out of the main stream brands.
PS - That said, I don't listen to music when I ride, as it defeats the purpose of riding, IMO. I only listen to mine at work.

OK so the earphones have been covered here pretty well.
What do you guys use as far as earpiece mounted speakers that stay in your helmet? I just got a new Custom 500 3/4 helmet and want to velcro mount in a set of superloud speakers so I can stay jammin for extra miles. Information on what IPOD or MP3 players to drive them would be appreciated as well. The only time I get to zone out and jam is on my bike, so I want a premium sound system for my helmet. I just dont like having anything like earphones jammed in my ears as I eventually get irritatated with them and dont wear them.
Great Thread!!
