First off, get rid of the center punch and use a block of wood or rubber mallet.
Soak it in penetrating oil and let it sit for an hour.
I take it you did not use any anti-seize last time?

Use a wooden dowel the diameter of the axle - and hit the wooden dowel with something like a dead-blow hammer or a 3 pound hand sledge. There is no way you used Permatex anti-seize compound the last time you re-installed the axle. If you had, you could have pulled the axle out with your fingers.

Using a centerpunch (really poor choice of tools) can displace metal on the shaft, causing the end of the shaft to swell, increasing its' diameter to a point where it is larger than the bore in which it fits.

if your front end is like mine (2009) you could dismantle it all... remove the forks, then remove the fork legs , leaving only the wheel + axle + spacers... then you could assess the situation better.

cheers

I GOT IT...the axle had a hole in it on the thread side and i used the center punch...(luckly it didnt screw anything up)... i just had to beat the fuzz out of it.. i guess the old saying is right "when all else fails use a bigger hammer". the reason i took it down is to paint the lowers which turned out SAWEEEET...thanks to jrk's write up.. SO THANKS JOE!!! (if you read this).. what i used to put it together (last time)was Lucas brand assembly oil ... anyway i wont use it again sooo thanks to all ill have pics of the painted lowers and all the other winter mods i did now that im with them

I use silicone grease, it is water proof and does not make a terrible mess like the anti-seize will if you get it on your fingers, which is pretty much inevitable when sliding in axles etc. What does get on components is easily wiped off and does not show compared to the silver anti-seize that is hard to clean off.

Default best anti-seize compound

My go-to anti-seize is Tef-Gel.
