Default Anyone running the SE-211 or SE-251 cam?

Hey everyone I was wondering if anyone was running the SE 211 or 251 cam in their bike and how well these cams perform. I have an 06 Dyna Street Bob and I'm looking for a lil more kick in the upper rpm. I'm def. not looking for a torque monster cam like the Se-255, but these cams do provide an extra increase in torque in midrange, i like to get on my bike very now and then and the higher rpm cam would be more my style.

I had them in my bike for awhile and they have great mid range torque..I had them with HC pistons and a SERT. It tuned out to @85hp and 93ft lbs torque. Great from about 2500 to 5000 rpm.

Yeah I'm thinking I want a lil bit more power, now did you guys go chain driven cam style or direct replacement? I'm a bit confused cuz I almost went with the Woods 6-6 cam, I see guys are getting mid 90 hp and about 100 torque with a tune. The only things I have are V&H pipes, powercommander 3 and forcewinder intake.

I kept the chain drive for the 211s and later put gear drive cams in it...If you want more than the numbers I posted with the HC pistons, you will have to have some head work done so it will breath better. The stock TC 88 motor has 55-60 hp from the factory.

See now this is where im torn at, almost every cam made for the 06 twincam engine is either a chain or gear driven. I know the chain is cheaper, but are they just as reliable as well? I don't see the huge point for going to a gear driven cam that is more than double the money to swap over to it. Can you please clarify to me what the reasons for switching would be

Gear driven cams where preferred by some because the older style chain drive tensioners had some longevity issues. Gear drives also have somewhat better control over cam timing but honestly the type of mods mosy people do you won't notice any difference. You have the new style chain drive so the set up has been modified and is very reliable now. If it was my bike I wouldn't waste the extra money on gear drives. Gear drive are also less tolerant of crank run out which is not an isue with chain drives.

251's , they are great with just me on the bike. Would go with a different cam for two and loaded down.

Unless you plan on raising your compression I would go with the 204's. The cams with a later closing intake valve bleed off too much compression and are weak on the bottom.
