Default Fat Bob Baffel removal

I have 2011 Fat Bob and when I go for a ride with the guys, I cannot hear my bike. Looking at removing baffel from my Fat Bob stock pipes. Want to add Thunder Baffels QQ series. Question I have, Can I drill the ribets on the back side of the stock pipes to remove baffel?

Thanks

If that is how the baffles are secured, yes. But, you will never get it much louder with stock pipes due to the cat in the head pipe collector. Unfortunately there is no way to completely remove the cat without cutting the pipe and re-welding. Not that it would be legal.....

yes i did this to my 08 FB
just remove the mufflers
drill out the rivets
bang out the baffles
reinstall give it a little gas and blow out the packing
go easy or you will have a mess to pick up
i also installed BCT baffles as i read on here that you need some back pressure due to warranty issues
mine got much louder
it will put a smile on your face

Installed the QQ series and they sound really great. I was really suprised of what difference a small baffle can do. One thing I added to the install, I tacked welded the bolt holding the baffle to the pipe. I've been told to use red loctite, but the way I understand loctite is to remove you need to heat up and I'm sure with the heat from the pipes. They would burn off then risk the chance of loosing a baffle. Nothing to hold it in once it breaks away.

Thanks Again!!

Another option would be to check on ebay for a set of stock pipes from an 08 or possibly an 09 that wouldnt have a cat in them. No cutting involved and most likely cheap since people sell the stock pipes for almost nothing. I had the 2010 Fat Bob with a cat in it and V&H slip ons and I was dissapointed in the sound. Bought a set on ebay swaped them out and oh what a difference.

I added some Rush Slip ons to my 2010 Fat Bob, and they are significantly louder than stock, even with the Cat in the headers (which I assume it has).

I have a feeling though that European Stock exhausts we get are much quieter than the ones you get over in the States.
