Default Step by step 21" front on SB "LOTS OF PICS"

UPDATED!!

1st if the pictures don't work please let me know.

Anyways I have been putting this off all winter then it is starting to get nice so I take the scoot out for a spin then start the mod of changing the 19" front SB wheel to a 21" front. I bought the rim from Jireh cycles and got it in three days. Follow the pictures and it will explain all. Take off old wheel (loosen two allen bolts, and the axle nut), get the old tire off (free at my indy if you buy tire there), using the correct hex bit I unscrewed all the spokes, wiped down with oil and hit all the threads with oil, then usings https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...nd-spokes.html advice of every 4th hole laced the spokes into I went to town. Doing this by hand took about 2.5 hrs for everything and I even missed up. I put the spokes in the wrong place, causing them to be to long. However, ten minutes of unscrewing and moving the spokes fixed this.

This is really easy to do and worth the $45.74 I paid for the 21x3.25 Jireh rim, using my old 19" SB chrome spokes (they are still perfect), and 2.5 hours of work. I am having my indy "true" the wheel and install a 120/70/21 tire. With the truing, tube, tire, it will cost me $155, so I'll have a new 21" front tire for $200 bucks! Awesome deal.

Step 6:
Step 7: Incorrect Lacing!!

Step 8: Correct Lacing, now for tire!!

Here is the final product

Close up with fender adjusted, No rubbing on the little 5 mile test trip.

Yea, I am going to do the rear once the tire is wore out. Then 16" black Zbars, and powdercoated rims are in order! The tire is done, should have it on tomorrow afternoon and updated!

Good job!! I wish I knew about the stock spokes before I purchased mine. When you get it mounted you are going to be shocked at the difference and you won't be disappointed. Plus it rides and corners so much better. And it doesn't grab grooves or tar strips, plus it just looks badass!!

Great thread.
I have been thinking about doing this for awhile now. Did not know that the the spokes from the 19" wheel would work on the 21".
